Does THC Kill Cancer? Fact or Fiction

They say that the THC in marijuana causes tumor cells to begin to degrade themselves from the inside (a process called autophagy, i.e. "self-eating"). Although autophagy has been shown to promote cell survival in some cases and cell death in others, the authors show that in this case it causes cancer cells to undergo programmed cell death (apoptosis). Thus, THC activates a series of events within cancer cells, inhibiting tumor growth.

Marijuana has been shown to be effective in reducing the nausea induced by cancer chemotherapy, stimulating appetite in AIDS patients, and reducing intraocular pressure in people with glaucoma. There is also appreciable evidence that marijuana reduces muscle spasticity in patients with neurological disorders. A synthetic capsule is available by prescription, but it is not as effective as smoked marijuana for many patients. Pure THC may also produce more unpleasant psychoactive side effects than smoked marijuana. Many people use marijuana as a medicine today, despite its illegality. In doing so, they risk arrest and imprisonment.

K2 Incense

They say it is the new high, it is all over the news. People are now smoking incense called K2 to get high. People will smoke anything these days.
K2 is made to be a potpourri or an incense and it can be burned like any other incense in a small burner but some people are choosing to smoke it.

K2 incense is a mixture of botanicals and herbs that are blended with a variety of proprietary ingredients. The base herbal & botanical ingredients for all of the blends include:
Heimia salicifolia
Leonurus sibiricus
Ledum palustre
Canavalia rosea
Clematis vitalba
Nelumbo nucifera
Pedicularis grandifolia

K2 is the mixture of synthetic cannabinoid drugs such as JWH-018(1-pentyl-3-(1-naphthoyl)indol e) is an analgesic chemical from the aminoalkylindole family, which acts as a cannabinoid agonist at both the CB1 and CB2 receptors, with some selectivity for CB2.[1][2][3] It produces effects in animals very similar to those of THC; some people beleive this or a cousin is the main psychoactive ingredient.

Facts About Marijuana

The Fact is that there is no convincing scientific evidence that marijuana causes psychological damage or mental illness in either teenagers or adults. Some marijuana users experience psychological distress following marijuana ingestion, which may include feelings of panic, anxiety, and paranoia. But these are the side affects of using Marijuana. Not everybody will experience these affects.

Why Legalization

There's a push by students at Florida State University to legalize marijuana. Floridians could vote for the first time next year to allow marijuana for medical use. A petition drive, started in Orlando, where a woman whose father has Parkinson's disease, would make the drug legal for any condition as prescribed by a doctor. They are collecting signatures on a petition to support a constitutional amendment that gives patients the right to grow, obtain, purchase and possess medical marijuana under a doctor's supervision. They need signatures from over 700,000 registered voters and donations exceeding $5 million. The deadline for the 2010 election ballot is February 1, 2010. So now its time to do our part here is the link to the petition website http://www.pufmm.com/petition.php
